New Orleans Medium Airboat Swamp Tour

The Medium Airboat is the perfect mix of speed, maneuverability, and price. It's our most popular tour.

If no availability is showing online for your desired tour time, call us at 888-481-8188 or use the chat feature on our website. We may still be able to squeeze you in.

Our Medium Airboats seat approximately 16 people. The Medium Airboat is the perfect mix of speed, maneuverability, and price. It's our most popular tour.

Groups of any size can ride any of our airboats. Let us worry about filling the rest of the seats.

Airboats are almost like hovercrafts: They go over mud, need less than an inch of water, and take you to places that bigger boats can't reach, which means you'll see more of the bayou!

Cajun captains: You are in the water for two hours with a Cajun captain, local experts who are incredibly knowledgeable about the native animals and the environment. But they are also a little crazy! These guys are fearless when it comes to the gators and may do things you won't believe. They've been known to (very) occasionally jump in the water during warmer months.

The bayou is beautiful: Spanish moss hangs from Cypress trees. A Cajun cemetery sits right off the edge of the water. Wildlife abounds: pelicans, owls, turtles, egrets, nutria, and of course, alligators.

Alligators! Speaking of gators, you will see them the wild, in captivity, and you'll probably find a baby gator on the boat. You might even get to hold it!

Restrictions: Pregnant women, children under 5 years old or 48 inches, and people with neck/back problems are not allowed to ride airboats. Our Covered Pontoon Boat Swamp Tour is a good alternative.

Drive out location: We have a few different docks that we work with, so your drive out location will be provided after we confirm availability. Our swamps are about 30 to 40 minutes south of New Orleans.

Pick up locations: We can pick up at most hotels in the French Quarter and Central Business District. If you aren't staying at one of our spots, we can direct you to the closest pick up location. Occasionally we need to change your pick up location, so please double check your confirmation email.

Partial Payment: Upon confirmation, we collect a partial payment towards your total cost (generally $25 to $45 per ticket depending on which swamp tour your choose). Our tour operator will collect the balance at the time of your tour.

The ideal time depends on the season. In summer, morning and evening tours are cooler. In cooler months, midday tours are preferred. Evening tour times range from 2:00-6:00 pm, depending on sunlight.

3. When is the best time of year for a zipline tour?

Every season offers a unique experience. Alligators might be harder to spot in extreme temperatures, but New Orleans' mild winters still provide opportunities to see them. Spring and summer bring lush greenery and abundant wildlife, while winter months offer better visibility due to less foliage.
